Donation protected
UPDATE: Our little angel Mason passed away peacefully at 2:30 PM on December 7 2018. He was surrounded by so many family and friends that love him so much. Mighty Mason is now with our Mighty Lord and Savior! We do not have the words to express the gratitude we feel towards so many family friends and to the community. The outpouring of love is our peace in the midst of our grief. His life is a testimony of the LOVE he shared with everyone he met! Funds raised will go to help pay for his funeral expenses and his Celebration of Life! UPDATE: Mason will no longer be getting radiation treatment. Our precious angel is home now resting and on Hospice care. We are all surrounding him with lots of love and kisses. Sharing those Mason stories that makes us all laugh and then feeling the deep sadness knowing he will not be with us much longer. Please pray for Mason's comfort and for strength for our family. Funds raised will go to pay for his funeral expenses. Mason is being raised by his loving grandparents and they need help. Thank you so very much! Help Mason with expenses during treatment for Glioblastoma. Mason started feeling sick in February of 2018.  Originally we thought it was a virus that was being passed around.  However, Mason continued with symptoms of being tired all the time, vomiting and not wanting to eat.  After several doctor visits, urgent care and then finally a visit to the emergency room at Slidell Memorial they realized something more was going on.  He was transferred to Ochsner Northshore where after getting CT they discovered he had a brain tumor.  We were all devastated.  It was the last thing we ever imagined we would hear.  They immediately transferred him by helicopter to Ochsner New Orleans where they prepared for surgery the very next day.  They removed a large tumor from his temporal lobe.  Mason did well for the surgery and was such a trooper.  The next day was his 4th Birthday and we celebrated with cake and decorated his ICU Room.  He was in pain but managed to open a few gifts.  The doctors did tell us that Mason had a glioblastoma.  This particular tumor however had been contained in its own sack and did not have the tentacles that most glioblastomas have.  We were told he would need radiation and chemo right away.  After a few days in the ICU and hospital room, they let him go home.  Things weren’t going so well and Mason had to go back because fluid was building up and they needed to put in a shunt. He had also acquired MRSA and they needed to open up the area and treat it as well as give him IV antibiotics.  Each day after that Mason got stronger and stronger he remained in the hospital for over a month.  The hospital staff were wonderful and the childlife nurse explained things to Mason every step of the way.  There are so many stories within the story.  We were covered in prayers, love and support.  Finally, Mason was able to go home and soon radiation started.  My mom and Mason stayed at the Brenthouse Hotel during the week.  Mason needed to have radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  He was also given chemo orally every day during that time.  Mason was so strong and went through the radiation and chemo with flying colors only getting tired for a few days toward the end of treatment.  He had a 30 day break before needing to get back on chemo 7 days on and four weeks off.  He did have an MRI as well that showed all looked good.  His brain had even filled in the empty space that had been compressed from the tumor.  His next MRI was 3 months later and it showed something but they weren’t sure if it was something to be concerned about or if it was something due to the radiation.  We would wait 30 days and have another MRI.   We started noticing behavior changes and other clues that something was going on.  Mason had a follow up MRI and it showed the cancer was back but on the other side.  There were several sites containing tumors and some clusters as well.  This time they are saying that the tumors are inoperable and he would need start radiation right away.  The day after Thanksgiving Mason had sugery to have his port put back in and a few days later his simulation. He will do radiation 5 times a week for six weeks. Mason and my mom will stay at the Brenthouse next to Ochsner. They will need help paying for lodging, gas and food expenses. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
