Dominique Price hates me.
He wants me.
He can never have me.

At least that’s what I tell him.
Good looking, arrogant, football God, everything comes so easy for him. I won’t be just another game to win.
It doesn’t matter that I want him.
It doesn’t matter that with just one look, he takes my breath away.

He’s my brother's best friend and officially off limits.
But when he touches me, I forget what we’re supposed to be.
Acquaintances. Enemies. Nothing.
And I dream of what we could be.
Friends. Lovers. Everything.

If only everyone’s expectations weren’t standing in the way.

Steamy, new adult bully romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💋💋💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀‍🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍

The heroine: Kasey Henderson (a.k.a. Baby Henderson) - little sister to Aaron. Aaron is friends with the Devils of Sun Valley High (Roman, Emilio, Dominique) who were all football stars at their high school and are now the same in College. Kasey is also best friends with Allie and Bibi (Roman and Emilio’s girlfriends). Though she was a freshman while they were seniors. Now, a year early, at 17, she is starting College at the same school as them.

The Hero(es): Dominique Price - Football player extraordinaire, he is focused on football and school and is determined not to fool around with his friends younger sister. She aggravates him to no end. Dominique’s parents own an extremely successful tech company and don’t want him playing football as a career.

The Story: Dom once kissed Kasey when they were in high school, but he knows that she is forbidden. Both Dom and Kasey say they hate each other but you can tell their attraction is undeniable.
They do their best to get on each other’s nerves, and neither has any interest in dating anyone else.

The book starts off with Kasey moving in to a sorority house. She is attending Suncrest University this year because she had been taking college level courses during high school and graduated early. With her mother moving to another state for a job, she had the choice of moving in to the sorority or moving in with her brother Aaron who lives with Dom (whom she considers her nemesis).

The book is every bit as good as I expected and oh so steamy. Though I was hoping, like the first three this would be a standalone and that the next book would be Aaron’s book. Though Aaron was not one of the Sun Valley Devils in high school and isn’t on the football team, he has been in all 4 of the books.

Aaron had a drug problem and at one point got into a car accident while under the influence. All 4 of the guys were in the car and it caused a split between Aaron and the other three. However, Aaron has been back in the fold a while now and is Dominique’s roommate in this book since Roman and Emilio are wifed up.

This book also gives more of Aaron’s personal background and delves into the fact that he is suffering from PTSD. Though this book ended in a cliffhanger so the next book is the continued story of Dom and Kasey.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Distinctly uncomfortable.
When a story has flashbacks to an 18 year old grinding on a 14 year old, I just... no. I do not accept. Back from whence you came, predator.

Daniela has written another amazing must read that you cannot put down till the very last page and then it leaves you still wanting more . Cruel Devil is book 3 in the Sun Valley Devil High series. This is Dominique and Kaseys story. Love this whole series so much . I have been dying for this book and it did not disappoint ok well maybe for a min when the author decided to put a spanner in the works at the end and blind side us . This book was everything I thought it would be and more like Kasey and Dominique’s story takes you on one hell of a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I felt it all the love the pain the heartbreak the frustration the heat . Dominique and kasey have always butted heads since they were young and that doesn’t stop them now even if they find each other smoking hot , they Like pushing each other’s buttons, but there is only so much sexual frustration someone can take until it all comes to a head. Their story is not a simple boy falls in love with girl, for one and the biggest hurdle the need to overcome for now is Kaseys is Dominiques bestfriends little sister so she’s off limits. Will they won’t they ? Well your going to have to read to find out and let me tell you there are a few unexpected things that happen that we did not see coming enjoy the ride you won’t regret it !!!

Emotional rollercoaster that will keep you wanting more!

Uhh!! My heart. This book is an emotional rollercoaster, that will keep you wanting more.

Iv been eager for Dominique & Kasey story to be here because you see the chemistry starting throughout the other Devil books and boy it didn’t disappoint. The push and pull they have with one another will give you whip lash. None of them will admit to their feelings towards one another, so they fight each other constantly, make out hear and there, then try to tell each other that it can never go anywhere because Dom is Kasey’s big brothers best friend. It makes you just want to slap them both up the side of the head! This book had me in tears by the end and my heart breaks for Kasey an what she is going through by the end of the book.

I can’t wait for their second book to see where there relationship goes.

Okay, so this might be the best football romance I’ve ever read. I started it late last night and stayed up to finish it because I couldn’t put it down! Dominique Price and Kasey Henderson have known each other since they were kids (he’s best friends with her older brother Aaron) and they’ve always clashed. But as they get older, they realize that part of the reason they fight is because they’re attracted to each other, although neither one of them will admit it. When Kasey starts college at seventeen and joins the Kappa Mu sorority, they start seeing a lot more of each other, as Dom also attends that college and is one of the stars of their football team. Of course, Kasey’s pissed off at how overprotective Dominique can be, and Dom growls anytime any guy even looks at her. This is a best friend’s brother romance at its finest. Dominique’s fear of Aaron realizing how he feels about Kasey was well written and came off very genuinely. Kasey’s annoyance at the way Dominique makes her feel was also very well done, you could really see her inner struggle as she fights her feelings for her older brother’s best friend. “Cruel Promise” cannot get here fast enough, as I’m dying to find out what happens to these two!!! My first book by Daniela Romero, but I know it won’t be my last!

I received a copy of this book from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was my first read by this author, and even though I don't love the bully trope, I absolutely adore everything about the brothers best friend trope, so I was really excited to start reading this.. but unfortunately it just fell a bit flat to me. I also wasn't aware that this ended on a cliffhanger, which made me want to throw my kindle across the room, lol. There just wasn't much romance between these two.. it was all fighting and immature behavior, which I get is the norm for a bully romance, but I wish there was just more passion and chemistry between these two. Especially since it will be a while before we get the conclusion of their story.

**I received an ARC and these are my honest opinions.**

Cruel Devil by Daniela Romero is a enemies to lovers sports romance. This is the third book in the Devils of Sun Valley High series.

The book does come with a caution/warning "Cruel Devil is a new adult sports romance with enemies to lovers/bullying themes and is recommended for mature readers 17+"

I am loving this series! The books just keep getting better! I am loving the chemistry between Dominique and Kasey. Their relationship was a bit messy but you couldn't help but root for them to get together.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Cruel Promise to be released on May 26, 2022 so I can get more of Dominique and Kasey's story.

I would recommend this book if you like small town romances, brother's bestfriend romances, enemies to lovers, or sports romances.

So I had received this book in a newsletter a while back, and I finally picked it up yesterday. At first, I wasn't sure whether I could write a review or give a star rating, but then I decided I would. Because I DID read it from beginning 'till end! I won't lie, I was reading without really paying much attention, and that's probably why I didn't notice a few things sooner than I did, things that now are making me nauseous 😫 my brain takes some time to catch up with things sometimes, so don't mind me.

I thought I liked Dominique's character. But now, all I can see is some freaking pędøph!lə! During the entirety of the book he was "trying" not to roam around his best friend's little sister, Kasey, who was 17 and I didn't realize he was 21 but okay. Then it was mentioned that he had kissed her 4 years prior and started ghosting her and even "tried" to make her hate him. What's revolting about this whole ordeal is that at the time, she'd only been 14 yo while the pëřv was 18!!! Now tell me how that makes sense to you? Because to me it doesn't! 😱

So the dude kept on repeating these words like a mantra to himself: "She's only 17!" "She's a minor!" "She's your best bud's little sis!" And now I'm like, you didn't seem to mind her being a minor 4 years ago?! And he went and bēåt the sh!t out of a teammate who FYI was her classmate and HER AGE, because he'd supposedly "hűrť her" and began flirting with her! And it wasn't like Domdouche wanted to date her or anything, he just hated the idea of her being with anybody else, so he kept playing nasty games and then went and ignored her for days!! 😤🤦🏻‍♀️

I don't really have much to say about Kasey except that she seemed okay, and was someone who favored her alone time over parties and socializing. But she was a teenager, and as such, she took a few dumb decisions like provoking Dom then acting pissed when he'd lecture her, or "punish her" as he put it 😑 I honestly think she could've been better with Deacon, instead of chasing after a douche who couldn't make up his mind and kept manipulating her like a doll.

ok i’m super conflicted let me explain why. this book is really good, in the aspect of like… chemistry is good, plot is pretty good, characters are good. BUT? idk if this is just the kindle version but the layout was so confusing? first, i didn’t realize it was a series, so i started with this book , but i didn’t notice until like half way through there was an ending and it said to continue reading deacons story? i’m just confused? but then it kept GOING, but it was like the start of the next story??? i’m so lost i kept looking for other books but from the seems of it only this one and the next one have dom & kaseys story? okay and on top of that the reason it’s a 4 is just because of the, sadly, usual womanizer like fucked up shit that the mmc said. i guess it’s my fault for reading kinda like dark romance (this isn’t dark romance but idk how to describe it, but it bothered me a lot. anyways. i’m gonna try to read the next book and clear up my confusion, but i’m not sure where to go from here tbh

Phenomenal!

I loved the chemistry between Dominique and Kasey and how brooding he could be. I like heroes with a jerky side and he didn't disappoint. Kasey is tough, stubborn, and vulnerable.
She has a brother, but sadly he's fighting demons of his own. It was Dominique who was always there for her, a protector, even when she didn't like it. And because of that, the hate relationship was born. And let me tell you, it's so entertaining.

When tragedy strikes it's Dominique who's the mature one. To see how he took care of her and how they trusted one another with their feelings and insecurities, is what transformed this story from good to great.

Their story is not yet finished, and I can't wait to see what'll happen next.

This is the third book in the series Devils of Sun Valley, it's time for Kasey and Dominique's story, one I wanted to read. I have fallen in love with these Devils but Dominique's story was special, as Kasey was a bit younger than Allie and Bibi, their attraction can't be denied, they both struggle with what feels to be forbidden, yet they can't stop it. We also get a bit of more Aaron, which I wanted to see as well. You will love this series, can't wait to read the next one to see how this story continues.

This is book one in an enemies to lovers, brothers best friend romance.

This was my first time stepping into the Sunset Valley world and while there were other couples referenced I wasn't lost nor did I feel like their involvement in the plot in any way diminish from the main characters.

With that being said, the secondary characters are very much in the lives of Kasey and Dominique's world. They are living at school and are not only roommates, but best friends with several of the other characters and at times quite pivotal to everything going on. Also, Dom's best friend is Kasey's brother, this is a big sticking point on why Dom doesn't make a move on Kasey. AND I'll add in one more layer when tragedy strikes it affects everyone and everything making everything more tumultuous.

In a nutshell, the tangled web seems...well...tangled, but at the heart of the story it's really a boiling chemistry between Kasey and Dom that has been building for years and it's finally coming to a head, but when they finally give in...Kasey is the one who demands they keep it a secret and as this first book comes to a close things look like they are about to get messy.

I'd like to say this book is light on drama and it is, but it's also emotional. There are deep rooted and dark outside things that these characters have to deal with, but as the couple goes I'd say drama between the two of them is the least of their worries.

I'm looking forward to see what will happen in book two when their secret gets out, since it will, and Kasey's brother is already teetering on the edge with his own problems. It should be good.

Oh, Kasey and Dominique.

You just have to make things even more complicated than they already are don’t cha?

But this is why this is a duet...so…

I’ve loved both Kasey and Dom since first meeting them. They are loyal to those they call their own and, despite how they treat each other, they have no problem stepping up to the plate for them. They both also wear masks and hide who they are and how they feel because their worlds, while pretty on the outside, aren’t as golden on the inside.

Their journey, thus far, is definitely complicated, but there is a connection that they have that has me believing that it they can find a way to get out of their own ways and be honest, that they’ll get the HEA they definitely deserve.

This was a quick read, and a great addition to the series. While there were a few things I wasn’t surprised by, there was one that had me going “Whoa” because that definitely causes a huge upheaval (total understatement) in more than one life and I have no doubt that the effects of it will be insane. But outside of that, I loved catching up with the rest of the Devil’s and their women and how they all have each other’s backs. So, time to practice patience, not only for the conclusion to Kasey and Dom’s journey, but for Aaron’s as well.

I kinda love everything Daniela Romero writes. **Insert swoony sigh here** She writes swoony bad boys so so well. And Dominique Price is another one to add to the list. He’s arrogant, cocky and he has the most wonderful bickering relationship with his best friends little sister, Kasey.

This was a quick little read that is the perfect introduction to Dominique & Kasey’s story. Their relationship is fiery, their sex is off the chart and I think I’ve found my first book boyfriend of 2022! Because underneath his asshole exterior lies a caring, protective, loving asshole.

There’s a whole lotta angst to come with these two, I can feel it in my waters. There’s the whole big brother issue (he has his own demons and he is not going to be happy when he finds out these two are boning - Dominique’s words not mine) then there’s Deacon who’s stirring that simmering pot, waiting for it to boil over, and then there’s the fact that Kasey has to deal with a tragedy at such a young age. I cannot wait to really sink my teeth into Kasey and Dom. They’re going to be explosive!

I received a copy of this in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGAlley.

This was my first book by Daniela Romero [ at least that I can recall ]. s o I did go into this being unsure of their writing style.
Now, this book won't be for everyone. There is an age gap in this where the FMC is a minor in the start of the book and the MMC is a senior in college. That in itself is slightly taboo and may not bode well with some. But for those of us who love taboo / forbidden, it's no shock.

Dom is your typical alpha-male... but kind of ... irritating at times.
The ending was too..abrupt. I'm sure it was to set it up for the next book in the series, but still.. i feel like it's missing something there. ;/

Rating: 3.5/5✨

I liked this book, ngl....it made me wanna read and read and not stop at all....
the writing style is wonderful...I loved how smoothly it transitioned from one scene to another.
I loved the tropes btw, best friends sister, fwb, possessive hero and all that...

But some scenes were so bad... It was so hypocritical, I know I know it is fictional... But this had too much in it. I didnt like that fact alone...

If not for those scenes... This book would have been a solid 5.

I am so glad Ive been approved for the arc of the next book... The ending wasn't good to be left like that 😂

Just when it was getting good the book was over. So disappointing. This was just a introduction to their story.
The writing was good and even though I never read the first two books it was easy to understand.
The characters were pretty flat so that was disappointing.
Boy oh boy, am I pissed about that open ending. That isn't even called an ending. It was too abrupt.

WHY IS THIS BOOK'S AVERAGE OVER 4 STARS?

I'm not sure if we read the same book. If you like Jillian Dodd books (sweeter), then you'll like this one (bully/spicy). I was skimming this book by the end (trying to shrink my shelves, I'll be donating this physical copy) and even the spice couldn't keep me interested.

I guess 2 stars because I finished it?

Not even sure how many stars to give this because yes I enjoyed it… but BUT I didn’t realise it was going to end on a cliffy and that makes me see red, because I hate cliff hangers and I hate waiting
But there’s something that has me hooked and I will patiently wait for the next book.

I am annoyed that this is a duet with a cliffy. I didn't expect that.

That said, I read this book quickly and enjoyed the story even if I could not buy into the living situation with the sorority things very easily.

Wow…my mind is blown. There is sooo much heat and chemistry with Dom and Kasey. They definitely set off some fireworks when they are together. Their banter and encounters are heating up and I want to know what happens. It could go either way. They could walk away, or they could both burn, or they even could be just what each other needs. They both agree that Kasey’s bother, Aaron can’t know what happens between them. I will stop there as I don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. After all it would be so much better to read it for yourself. I laughed, cried, got mad, felt hopeful, got frustrated, and so many more emotions and reactions to Kasey and Dom. Cruel Devil 😈 has so many twists, turns, secrets, revelations, emotions and lots and lots of heat! All of this makes Cruel Devil a book that I could not put down and stayed up most of the night reading. I think I got to bed at 3 am and woke at 6:45 am and immediately finished reading Cruel Devil then took a short nap before writing this review 😂. Just remember that you will become lost in your own little world of Devils of Sun Valley U. I commend Daniela Romero, author, on her writing the Devils of Sun Valley High series as it is an excellent series with characters that come alive and have depth to them. Their history is diverse but they all interconnect and each couple has their own path they need to follow to overcome their issues with each other and as individuals. I highly recommend reading Cruel Devil 👿 and the series of Devils of Sun Valley High and I will be waiting until Cruel Promise, Book 4 and The Savage (spin off)! Until then if you haven’t I would read the rest of the series of Devils of Sun Valley High first before reading Cruel Devil 😈 so it will be a richer experience.

This is the third book in the Devils of Sun Valley High series and it is Dominique and Kasey’s story. Kasey is the younger sister of Aaron who is Dominique’s college roommate. Kasey has known Dom since they attended the same high school when she was a freshman and he was a senior. Their interactions were nothing but oil and water which led Kasey to the impression that Dom did not like her but she gave as good as she got. The two are back in close proximity when she starts attending Suncrest University where their interactions become more intense. However, when tragedy strikes, Kasey and Dominique are forced to face some issues that lead them to make some changes. Ever since the beginning of the series, I have been captivated by these characters. Kasey and Dominique take readers for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride and readers will fall wholeheartedly. Overall, this is one well written, steamy read that one will just have to be patient to see how this journey continues for these two with the forthcoming book “Cruel Promise” and I cannot wait to read it! If you enjoy sports romance, then this is the series for you. I recommend it.

Wow.

Wow this book will wreck you towards the end. Dominique is a jerk, he and Kasey are always arguing. They’re always at each others throat. They love to hate each other.
Dom is now in college and Kasey is taking some courses to get credits. She ends up of course at the same university as Dom. Her brother is dealing with things he’s not ready to talk about. Dom is sharing a place with him and being a friend to him. Dom and Kasey have some pretty steamy moments. But there are moments that will break your heart. I was in tears towards the end of this one. And this is just book one of Dom and Kasey.
I really want to know what the deal is with the guy that Kasey has met. There’s something about him. I’m glad Dom and Emilio did what they did to him. This is a must read. But this is book one of two. Dom and Kasey’s story is not done yet.
I just finished this book and I’m still trying to process everything that happened in this book. I can’t wait for the next book.
I highly recommend this book. And this series.

"Dominique Price very much is that bad. He gets under my skin in a way no one else can, and the pull he has over me, urgh. I hate it. Sometimes so much so that I think I Hate him. When we're in the same room, I want to kiss him and punch him in the same breath. That he makes me question my own sanity is frustrating."

ok so i kind of read "Cruel Promise" (4th book, 2nd book of Dom & Kasey's story) as my first book in this series as I didn't know it was a series & should've been read from the first book onwards. However by the way Cruel Promise was written it is possible for a reader to read that book & still follow along but you'll just miss how Dom & Kasey got to where they are. Cruel Devil follows Dominique's story, this one is about him & Kasey. Enemies/bickering friends to lovers.

- enemies to lovers or like bickering friends to lovers since they argue a lot
- my best friend's sister
- sports romance
- spice
- possessiveness bf
- high school

I like the Devils of Sun Valley High series, the characters are likable even the side characters.
