King County Parks Seasonal workers perform a wide variety of work such as landscaping, athletic field maintenance, trail building and maintenance, construction and demolition, invasive weed removal, restoration and planting, working with volunteer groups, etc. We seek candidates who love the outdoors and who want who make a difference in the community and help us steward our public lands for all citizens to enjoy.

Work Schedule: Temporary Seasonal Positions will work until October 15.  This position can work up to 40 hours per week and is overtime eligible. Work weeks vary depending on work assignment and location, some shifts may include weekend work. Hours of operation are from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Saturday. 
 
Union AffiliationThis position is represented by Service Employees International Union, Local 925.
 
Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work with and provide exceptional customer service to the public and volunteer groups.
  • Ability to follow instructions, and be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Basic skill in operating small manual and power hand tools.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, reach, climb, stoop, squat, push, twist, and perform heavy physical labor with weights up to 75 pounds. Ability to walk several miles a day and work on uneven terrain.
  • Experience with landscaping, gardening, athletic field maintenance, or other park maintenance experience highly desired! Construction experience desired for some locations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be 18 years or older. 
  • Employment will be contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment physical and a background check, which includes criminal and driving histories.
