Over the years I have learnt so much about different flowers and species , thanks to Altenew for illustrating such beautiful flowers consistently!!
I have to give you a back story on how the design for my card developed. We have recently moved from Minnesota to Greensboro, North Carolina (Last month) for my husbands job. We are currently living in a temporary accommodation as we shop for a house. In one of the house hunting expeditions we saw a house with a very beautiful architectural landscaped garden. The garden had some really beautiful flowers in various colors and I was so excited to that I could name so many of them as I mentioned earlier because of Altenew and their flower releases. As we walked along in the garden we stumbled on a large patch of colorful California Giants by the fence and my mind went that's my card for this release.
For my card I die cut all the flower and leaves from the CAF California Giants set using watercolor card stock. I used the woodless watercolor pencils from Altenew to color my flowers. These flowers really turned out so beautiful because the dies that come together so beautifully to build this flower
In order to create the fence I used a very thin rectangle die from the Nesting Slim Rectangles Die Set. I used gray Altenew Artist Markers to crate the wood grains on the fence to give it a whitewash look. The card size is 5x7 as I wanted to use several flowers on my project as the fully built flowers are pretty big.
The sentiment hello is also from this die release which I die cut using the gold glitter card stock from Altenew. I adhered all the die cut flowers and fence on a cardstock cut slightly smaller than my notecard. Finally I splattered some gold watercolor metallic paint and added some gemstone to add some additional texture and interest to the card.
