Blessed with a Melody was incarnated when JJ and Grammy Nominee Zé Luis Oliveira teamed up with Maxi Priest. This collaboration, at The Atelier Music Studio in NYC, blended multiple genres of music, including Reggae, Ska and Jazz, creating a beautiful fusion of rhythms, songwriting and cultures.

The all star cast of musicians on the recording are as diverse as ever, and carry the highest pedigree of talent. The full horn section rides on top of the solid drum and bass, and grooving keyboard section. Zé and JJ's production approach and arrangements hold true to the classic integrity of this recording.

Finally Maxi's classic soulful vocals and JJ's smooth guitar finish off the excitement here in the song. "Blessed with a Melody" is guaranteed to cross the lines of many genres and will reach listeners and fans across the world.

An extraordinary performer, JJ has a "take no prisoners" performance attitude, gracing the stage night after night touring on his own or with reggae legend Maxi Priest and bringing his vibe of Smooth Jazz, R&B, and Reggae.

A Berklee School of Music graduate and award winner, he has shared the stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, Victor Bailey, Gerald Albright, Randy Brecker, Shaggy, Ricky Lawson, Sean Paul, Rick Braun, the Marley Family, and even performed for Sir Paul McCartney's wedding in 2002.
