FIELD HOCKEY IS BACK FOR THE THIRD YEAR!
We are excited to offer Field Hockey for our third year in a row! Field Hockey is one of the world’s oldest sports in existence, played internationally by both women and men. As we kick off another great season, URC will be participating in the Frederick County Youth Field Hockey League!
Registration is OPEN and Practices will begin the week of August 20th. SO REGISTER TODAY!
Most practices will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s, at Urbana High School Field Hockey Field, however this is subject to change per coaches and field availability.

Team Ages: Grades 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th
Practices will be twice a week in the Urbana area, with games on Saturdays at fields around Frederick County
Practices: 10 weeks (Starts week of August 20 – Ends week of October 27)
Games: 8 weeks (Saturdays: September 8 – October 27)
Fees: URC Registration Fee: $130 (includes registration, reversible pinnie, and socks)
Clinic Ages: K-2ndGrade
Clinics will be 1 time a week in the Urbana area, No official games
Clinic dates: 8 weeks (Starts week of September 3rd – Ends week of October 22)
Fees: URC Registration Fee: $70 (includes registration, t-shirt, and socks)
This program will introduce the sport of Field Hockey to girls who have never played before and also reinforce the skills and techniques of the sport to girls with some Field Hockey Experience. The program has been designed by our Local Frederick County Varsity Field Hockey Coaches and will be run by Coaches in the Urbana Community. If you currently participate in another fall sport and you would like to learn to play field hockey, we welcome your participation.
Our Vision is to develop field hockey skills and a love for the game through drills, stations and game play. Most importantly, our main objective is to make sure these young athletes enjoy their experience on the field hockey field and have fun, while learning one of the oldest games in sports!
Players will need to provide the following:
Field Hockey Stick
Shin guards
Mouth guard
Eye Protection (Goggles/ Mask)
Cleat/ Sneakers

You will also need to print out and return Waivers in the handout tab to the left at the first practice in August
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!: We are in need of adults who are willing to give their time to help coach or assist in coaching a team. Adults do not have to have field hockey experience! Volunteers make the season successful. We have a coaches clinic set up for July 20th and another for August 13th. Please email us by July 16th if you are interested in Coaching.
