The ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometer is funded by the Department of Defense through its Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP). Dr. Daryush ILA, FSU’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Research, is the principal investigator for this project.

The equipment is located in FSU’s Materials Core Facility. Researchers from the departments of chemistry, physics and biology; materials science research teams; and local industry users will have full access to this laboratory for scientific research activities, training and STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) outreach.
