Arts in Education

Performed by professional dancers from Dance China NY, our assembly program showcasing Chinese culture and arts  is the best you can find outside of mainland China. It presents the beauty of Chinese dance with full costumes, authentic music, and interactive segments that will engage your students in a fun and educational way.

NYCCC offers individually-designed residencies, workshops, and after school programs in dance, martial arts, Mandarin, and visual arts to fit your schedule, budget, and other requirements. Teachers, trained in Chinese dance, Beijing opera, Mandarin, kung fu, and visual arts, are available for all educational needs, ranging from beginner to professional levels.

School of the Arts

New York Chinese Cultural Center's School of the Arts offers a comprehensive curriculum of Chinese dance, martial arts, Beijing opera acrobatics and weaponry, Mandarin, ink brush painting, and lantern making for students of all ages. Learn how to artfully master the sword or ribbon, how to create works of art out of brush and paper, or simply how to stay fit! Our Chinese dance classes incorporate many different ethnic and folk dances. With so many choices from beginner to advanced, there's sure to be a class that's right for you! All classes are grouped according to age and skill level. Come learn Chinese culture and arts with us!

Students participate in an annual student recital in June and semester end showcases throughout the year. There are also many opportunities for students to perform at our public events throughout the year.
