Tennessee Primary Election Results 2018

What to watch: Tennessee Republicans are wrapping up a bitter, expensive campaign for governor, with four leading contenders attacking one another as insufficiently loyal to President Trump. Those candidates are Representative Diane Black; Beth Harwell, the speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives; Randy Boyd, a former state economic development commissioner; and Bill Lee, a businessman. The Democratic primary is far quieter, with former Mayor Karl Dean of Nashville heavily favored. Read more

For the House, keep an eye on the Second, Sixth and Seventh Districts, all of which have competitive primaries for open seats. The state will also have a competitive Senate race in November, but not in the primaries, where each party has a clear front-runner: Representative Marsha Blackburn for the Republicans and former Gov. Phil Bredesen for the Democrats.
