After convincing grape-juice maker Welch’s to end all the animal tests that it was conducting in order to back up health claims about its products, PETA turned its attention to Ocean Spray and POM Wonderful—both of which have funded animal experiments even though none of the experiments are required by any law.

PETA provided these companies with information on non-animal testing methods and informed them that many of their competitors have pledged never to fund or conduct any animal experiments. After hearing from thousands of activists around the world, who urged them to end their funding of animal tests, Ocean Spray has agreed to only fund research that does not involve animals.

After a round of successful negotiations, PETA has also received written assurances that Ocean Spray will never fund or conduct any tests on animals ever again!
