How to Vote by Mail

1. Apply to receive a ballot by mail.  You can opt to receive a ballot by mail for just one election or for every election.

2. Your ballot is automatically sent to you.  Ballots are mailed 45 days prior to an election or after approval of your application, if inside the 45-day window (and before the application deadline).

3. Mark your voting choices on your ballot.

4. Complete the Statement of Voter with all required information. Do not forget to sign.

5. Seal your ballot in the envelope.  

6. Return your ballot by mail or at a drop box at a voting location.

 

Ways to Apply to Vote by Mail:

• Apply online through the Virginia Department of Elections with your state-issued ID

• Download the application to email, mail, fax, or drop off your application

• Pick up an application at our office at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1 (Manassas) or at any Prince William County Library.

 

Ways to Return Your Ballot:

• By Mail – Must be postmarked by Election Day (and received by the following Friday at noon).

• At our Office – Drop your ballot in the drop box at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1 (Manassas) by 7pm on Election Day.

• At a Drop Box – All early voting locations and Election Day polling places have drop boxes you can use.

Removal from Permanent Absentee List:

If you have previously applied to be on the permanent absentee list and would like to be removed, complete this request form and mail, fax, or return it in person to our office.

PLEASE NOTE: Completion of this form means that you will no longer automatically receive an absentee ballot from our office and going forward, you will need to complete an absentee ballot application for every election in which you want to receive an absentee ballot by mail.
