About Me
Inspiration
Inspiration and ideas are everywhere... in my surroundings, books, conversation, other artists. I am open to new ideas and images, hence my interest in creating both representational and abstract work. My paintings of the low country marsh paintings are quite popular.
Techniques
I typically work with oil or acrylic paint on canvas and paper using a painterly technique, which means that brush strokes are evident, as illustrated in the detail of "Summer Aspens." The hydrangea composition was done on an Ipad, which is perfect for designing prints and merchandise.
Highlights
I received an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since then, I have taught college art and exhibited my work in galleries and juried shows. I am located in Charleston, South Carolina and also enjoy spending time among the Utah aspens.
