Altenew 7th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway (over $1,400 In Total Prizes)

Hello fellow crafters! This is Jamie Pate, and I am thrilled to be a guest on the Scrapbook.com blog as part of the Altenew 7th Anniversary Celebration Blog Hop! Today I will be creating a card with some fabulous new Altenew stamps and dies alongside must-have Scrapbook.com products

Check out the entire hop here!

I love me an encouraging stamp set. Stamping seems to be the hot craze at the moment, and I am absolutely here for it! Altenew has a fresh, fantastic approach in their newest releases of stamps and dies.

Jamie Pate - Altenew HopI chose the All Things A stamp and die set for my project today - it's new and fantastic. It is certainly one of those stamps that I always seem to have sitting on my table, ready to use in my planner, on scrapbook pages, and for handmade cards. I positively adore the sentiments found in this set. They certainly are A-mazing. (see what I did there?)

Jamie Pate - Altenew StampAttitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. I need this phrase in my life in letters as large as my whole craft room! I need to remember this every day - no, wait - every moment! What a perfect sentiment this is to place on a card, tag, scrapbook layout, or art journal page.

Jamie Pate - AltenewTo make this card, I grabbed a selection of Distress Oxide ink pads in delicate hues. To complement the light pink color palette, I chose some vellum to use for the main background of the card. I used the Scrapbook.com Dotted Stencil and inked Tattered Rose dots on the vellum background.

Top Stencil Tips

Do you love using inks & stencils together? Then you need a stencil's best friend in your crash stash: The Domed Foam Ink Blending Tool from Scrapbook.com. This handy little tool is perfect for getting fabulous ink saturation in one color or a blend of several on your project. The foam picks up ink and distributes it evenly, gliding across your stencil for perfect coverage.

Then, on the back of the vellum, I stamped the Altenew Dainty Swiss Dots stamp with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. I liked the way the more subtle black small dot played against the rosy hue of the bigger dot found on the front of the vellum.

Distress OxidesI used Distress Oxides again on the 'A' that I cut out using the coordinating die set. The background was blended with Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet, and then I used the 'A' stamp to create the floral design. The stamped pattern is just a bit darker than the background of the ‘A’ and creates a beautiful customized focal point for this card. Then I popped the inked 'A' on the vellum with Scrapbook.com 1/4 inch double-sided foam adhesive strips.

This is quite the hobby, this stamping, and card making thing, don't you agree?

Jamie Pate - Altenew AUsing the Leaf Mix die set from Altenew (trust me - run, don't walk, and go grab this gorgeous die set!) I cut out a variety of leaf designs from black cardstock and tucked them up under the space beneath that gorgeous A.

I grabbed a little tag from my stash, gave it an edgy torn look, and added it next to the A. Then I took a swatch of inked paper and stamped that amazing attitude sentiment on it and stapled the notched paper to the label. Tadah! Another great card using great dies, stamps, adhesive, and ink.

Jamie Pate - Altenew Card 2Thank you so much for joining me for this blog hop today! I hope this lovely project inspires you to try out a couple of new products from Altenew and Scrapbook.com. Pull out your favorite inks, get in some creative playtime and create something inspiring - made by you!
