Where to Find Covid Vaccine Booster Shots in King County

The local vaccination effort is expanding again.

By Benjamin Cassidy September 28, 2021

Extra shots have been approved for select groups.

Even though Seattle is very vaccinated, the search for Covid shots here is back as booster doses have been recommended for many Americans.

King County started administering the additional jabs following the CDC's recommendation of boosters for certain groups of people. For Pfizer and Moderna recipients, that means anyone who completed their vaccine series at least five months ago. Any Johnson and Johnson vaccine recipient who completed their series at least two months ago is also eligible. Shots are (still) free.

The booster rollout hasn't been quite as frantic as the original vaccine hunt. Public Health—Seattle and King County reports that the area has enough doses and supplies to support those who are currently eligible. The state's vaccine locator has worked out its kinks, allowing Washingtonians to find pharmacies and clinics closest to them with relative ease. This isn't our first mass-vax rodeo.

As people search for appointments, they might want to give their doctors or health care providers a ring first to see if they have any available slots. If leaving the house is a problem, the county can help arrange in-home vaccinations for people who meet certain conditions. And if that "Vaccinate WA" search engine starts to crash, you can always lean on the following list of government-backed vaccination sites across King County.

This list will continue to grow, and we'll do our best to keep it updated. For the latest guidance on booster shots, visit Public Health—Seattle and King County's vaccination page.
