SeniorAdvice.com Announces Spring 2018 Scholarship Winners
Recipients have been chosen for the Spring 2018 $1,000 Caregiver and Volunteer Scholarships
AUSTIN, Texas -- SeniorAdvice.com, a leading resource for housing solutions and advice for seniors, has named the winners of its Spring 2018 student scholarship contest. SeniorAdvice.com offered two $1,000 scholarships to students enrolled in a college or university for the Spring of 2018 academic semester to help honor those who give back to the elderly community.
The SeniorAdvice Caregiver Scholarship was open to eligible students who have been a caregiver for an adult relative. The SeniorAdvice Volunteer Scholarship was available to eligible students who have served as a volunteer in a senior living community within the past year. The Spring 2018 winners are: Carolyn Scheese (University of Utah) and Peiyao Wang (McMaster University).
The scholarships were open to students attending a two or four-year college or university in the Spring of 2018. Applicants were asked to answer several questions to complete the application, including: what they learned from their experience as a caregiver or volunteer, and a valuable piece of advice they received from their aging loved one.
"We're aware that there are many deserving senior caregivers and volunteers out there. The winners were chosen based on the bond with their patient, their dedication to volunteering and their desire to continue to better their communities through their education and beyond," said SeniorAdvice.com CEO and Founder, Ryan Patterson.
