How Skaneateles Rotarians Provide
Service & Funds to their Community
Rotarians are committed to "Service Above Self" which can be witnessed by their commitment to our community. Skaneateles Rotary Club has raised and redistributed funds to the community at a rate of over $14,000 per year over the past five years. The recipients of these funds and services include:
Austin Park Development, Boy Scout Troop 61, Hiawatha Council Boy Scouts, CNY Girl Scout Council, Girl Scout Troop 759, Cub Scout Pack 161, Interact Club, Men's Club - Senior Christmas Party, Gift of Life, Midwest Flood Relief, Village Landing Flowers, Rescue Mission, Ronald McDonald House, Frances House, SAVES, Skan. Arts Association, Skan. Christmas Basket Committee, Skan. Festival, Skan. Figure Skating Club, Skan . Helping Hand Fund, various Boosters Clubs, Annual Community Halloween-Children's Party, Alzheimer Assoc. of Central NY, Pride of Workmanship Awards, Skan. Central School- Special Education, Skan. Community for Safe Homes, Presidential Classroom, American Legion-Boys State, Syracuse Young Life-West, SCS-After the Ball Party, STAR program, Skaneateles Boosters Club, Literacy Volunteers, Ecumenical Food Pantry, Cardo-Exercise Room at Community Center, Christmas Food Basket, Food Pantry, Skaneateles Conservation Area Pavilion, Refurbish Restrooms under the Gazebo, Simms Field protective fence & back-stop, Community Map and numerous special requests for other community & international needs through Rotary Foundation.
The Skaneateles Rotary club sponsors many of our communities' youth in the Rotary Student Exchange program. This very successful program has also given the community the opportunity to share our culture and country with many students hosted in Skaneateles from all over the globe. Another direct commitment to our community’s youth, is the club's sponsorship of a Rotary Interact club within our high school. This youth club promotes community service as a viable way of sharing time and talents.
Skaneateles Rotary members also make significant individual contributions to International needs through The Rotary Foundation, which includes: Polio Eradication, Rotary Scholarships, and many other Humanitarian, World Piece and Educational Programs
