A 29-year-old San Francisco woman who reportedly tried to rent a car at San Francisco International Airport using a false driver’s license pleaded not guilty Friday to several felonies.
Denise Rohrbach was charged with one count of commercial burglary, one count of unauthorized use of another’s identification, forgery, possession of credit card information, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. She asked for a court-appointed attorney and pleaded not guilty to all charges, said Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Guidotti.
Bail was set at $100,000 and she remains in custody.
Rohrbach was arrested Nov. 20 after officers from the San Francisco Police Department’s airport bureau were called to the rental car facility at the airport because a woman was trying to rent a vehicle with fraudulent identification. Rohrbach gave the officers the license, which turned out to be fake, and was also in possession of several other fraudulent pieces of identification, altered personal checks, credit cards, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
After her arrest, sheriff’s detectives figured out Rohrbach’s real identity and confirmed at least six more identity theft victims, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Rohrbach returns to court Nov. 27 for a Superior Court review conference and Dec. 5 for a preliminary hearing.
