Myth, art, history and archaeology bk 3, 2019 taught in Greece

* 1. This course focuses on myth, art and archaeology in ancient Greece and the origins of myths from the middle east and beyond. We will be based in Athens and travel to sites such as Argos, Corinth, Delphi, Epidauros, Mycenae and Thebes, reading a range of classical texts which relate to issues of gender, myth, and history. But I will also being teaching about the art and archaeology that relates to these locations. The course will place literary accounts in the broader context of art, political and societal structure, religious beliefs and family relations. We will be based in Athens, staying at the College Year in Athens apartments.

* 10. The program fee for the course is $2950. Additionally, you would be responsible for the cost of a RT plane ticket to Athens (which I might arrange as group, if there is demand) and for some meals.
