Sen. Bill Nelson in a new ad lays the blame for the toxic algae crisis on Gov. Rick Scott, accusing him of cutting environmental protections during his two terms in office.

The ad is digital only — and Nelson's campaign refused to provide details late Monday — meaning it won't have the reach of Scott's TV ad last week casting Nelson as ineffective on Lake Okeechobee issues in Congress.
