Duax, Boots lead UW-Oshkosh to men's basketball win over UW-Stout

OSHKOSH - The UW-Oshkosh men’s basketball team ran its school-record winning streak to 18 games with an 88-62 victory over UW-Stout on Saturday at Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans, ranked fourth in the country in NCAA Division III by D3hoops.com, improved their record to 19-1 overall and 9-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Connor Duax scored a career-high 21 points for the Titans, who have a two-game lead in the WIAC with five games remaining before the conference tournament.

Brett Wittchow added 14 points for the Titans, and Ben Boots scored 12 points to became the ninth player in UWO history to reach 1,500 career points (1,506).

Adam Fravert added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Titans, who went on a 24-8 scoring run to build a 67-42 lead with 11:53 to play.

Luke Geiger led Stout (6-15, 0-10) with 18 points.

 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

 

UW-Oshkosh 81, UW-Stout 67

MENOMONIE - Leah Porath scored 16 points to lead four Titans in double figures in the victory over the Blue Devils.

The 12th-ranked Titans went on an 8-0 run to start the second period and held a 37-26 halftime lead. Stout got as close as 64-59 with 3:50 left in the game, but the Titans closed out the game on a 17-8 run.

Jessie Rabas added 15 points, Olivia Campbell had 13 and Nikki Arneson 11 for the Titans, who improved to 8-1 in the WIAC and 18-2 overall.

Amber Fabeck and Bailey Diersen each scored 16 points for Stout (15-6, 5-5).
