TennCare 1115 Demonstration
The TennCare program operates as a Medicaid demonstration project under the authority of an 1115 waiver from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). (“1115” refers to the section of the Social Security Act under which the demonstration is authorized.) The terms of the waiver are described in TennCare’s demonstration agreement with CMS.
