MEETINGS:
Civil Service Meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Civil Service office and are open to the public.

Please note: All exam applications are due by 12:30 PM on the last day to file.
A note regarding exam applications:
Applications for examinations should only be filled out and provided to the Civil Service Commission Office when there are exams announced and the last date for the filing of applications has not passed. Exam fees must be included with the application unless filing for an exam fee waiver as an unemployed head of household. (Waiver form must be submitted with application).
A note regarding exam scores:
Exam scores will be announced as having been received when New York State releases them to our agency. Score and rank will be mailed to candidates after the Commission has approved the list. This process can take 4-6 months.
For General Employment
General Employment Application (Application to apply for non-competitive and labor class positions throughout the city.)
Please include a copy of your ID with your completed application.
Please note: Applications for general employment are accepted in the Civil Service office year round and are kept on file until December 31 of the current year. To be considered for employment as positions become available, a new application should be submitted during the current year.
