A New Space for Community in Brampton

For years, TMU’s Faculty of Community Services has contemplated ways of connecting to diverse communities beyond its academic spaces and downtown campus. Now that the university is offering a medical school and other new programming in Brampton, it is preparing to open the Community Transformation Café, a storefront space in downtown Brampton launching in summer 2023. In this webinar, Dr. Kiraras Gharabaghi (Dean, Faculty of Community Services and Professor, School of Child and Youth Care), introduces the concept of the Community Transformation Café, a flexible, multi-purpose space whose programming will adapt to accommodate all users from the community and local organizations, reminiscent of the cafés and tea houses of the 19th century that hosted important conversations and sparked change. Learn more about this new space and how TMU is set to engage with Brampton residents, and ask your questions.
