Another suspect has been arrested in a case where bodies were found in a burned car in Socastee

Captain John Harrelson said Jeret Cox was found by the Horry County Police Robbery/Homicide Unit and patrol officers on Tuesday. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for accessory after the fact A, B, C, or murder.

J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records show Cox is 29 years old and from Surfside Beach. He was booked around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday and remains in the center. No bail has been set.

Harrelson said on August 14 that Cox was wanted in connection with the case. Shannon Ray Little is also wanted in connection with the case, he said.

Harrelson also announced that Miranda Nicole Owens had been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to a felony a, b, c, or murder in connection with the case.

Arrest warrants show four men were charged in July in the case: David Lee Cook, William David Tatum, Zachary Kane Stell, and Michael Wixted Faile. The warrants describe how the victims were stabbed, shot multiple times, then burned inside the vehicle.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden says the first victim identified is 35-year-old Shawn David Anderson, originally of Laurens, South Carolina.

On August 16, McSpadden said her office received DNA confirmation that 29-year-old Matthew Autry, originally from Kershaw but living in Myrtle Beach, was the second victim killed and burned in July.
