TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — One person is dead after a crane collapsed in Palm Bay on Wednesday.

Crews responded to a house under construction in reference to a report of a crane accident involving power lines around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

They discovered the cab of the crane was engulfed in flames and a man was lying on the ground next to it.

It was revealed the crane was in the process of hoisting trusses to the roof of the home when the boom of the crane accidentally made contact with the power lines. This caused the crane to be electrified nd catch on fire.

No other individuals were injured or affected by the electrocution.

An autopsy will be conducted on the victim to confirm the cause of death.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
