Bright minds talk robotics, STEM at UNCW

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Lots of bright minds packed into UNCW’s Computer Information Systems building on Saturday to talk robotics and STEM.

It was the sixth annual edition of Robocon, put on by Wired Wizards of Wilmington.

Wired Wizards is a high school robotics team whose goal is to spread STEM throughout the community.

The robotics were the main attraction Saturday, but there were other groups on hand to talk about how they used STEM concepts every day.

Kaitlyn Perry says she’s learned a lot from being a part of the Wired Wizards.

“It’s made me realize more what you can do with technology and when you put your brain to things and work together, the things you can accomplish,” Perry said.

If your child is interested in robotics, Wired Wizards is looking for new members this summer. You can get in contact with them via their website or social media.
