UNCW’s Lumina Festival continues with ‘Hooked on the Arts’

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Lumina Festival of the Arts kicked off Thursday at UNCW and the festivities continued this weekend with “Hooked on the Arts.”

The event, which was held on UNCW’s Kenan Lawn, was meant to “celebrate the healing power of creativity.”

It featured vendors selling art, clothes, and jewelry, activities for kids, and more.

One man says he was driving by with his daughter, and decided to stop by and take part in all of the fun.

“We were just looking forward to doing a little bit of painting, and now we’re going to be jumping in the bounce house. And after that if we have time, we may also do some coloring, and playing some music. So yeah, just a lot of fun things to do here,” said Miles Lackey.

There was also a raffle held to win a piano or guitar.

Lumina Festival of the Arts continues at UNCW with various events until July 29.
