Very helpful and friendly staff, otherwise needs better inventory especially of local Cataluñan options and better knowledge base and training of barkeep/ sommelier. Was very hopeful after all the five star reviews and after being referred here by their wine shop across the street for local wine flights. Turns out they don't have flights, only do full glass pours (forget 7 or 9cl), and only 3 local wines open (a cava, a white, and a red). Cashier was very slow, detached, and seemed she preferred to be somewhere else.
Some items are waaay past due date.
This is a food tour tourist trap. Look elsewhere is you want real local fare.

One of our favorites from our trip to Barcelona. We got an order of bread with tomato, three cheeses, and the jamon, all of which were contenders for best versions of that dish on our trip. The jamon was basically perfect, although a bit more expensive than we got at other places. They gave us a pretty good variety of cheeses, one of which was a very moldy blue that I absolutely loved. My wife also loved their wine and got some to take home.

We were trying to find a wine store that was not super touristy and had great Spanish wines. My boyfriend somehow found this place while searching on his phone.
What we didn't realize is not only is it a wine store, across the street they have a store where you can buy great jams, olives, cheese and salami and prosciutto. Not only that, they have about 4 tables in the back where you can sample wines, or just sit and relax and have a bottle of wine. They will also bring you perfectly paired cheeses or anything you would like to have with the wine.
The gentleman that was in charge of pouring the wines had a vast knowledge of wine and made some excellent choices. He gave us this white rioja to try that was out of this world!
Needless to say, after we had some wine and cheese at the store, we walked across the street to buy some wines we had tasted and recommendations they made. All of the wines were fantastic.
This is a gem of a wine shop. They really know what they are doing!!

      This place is awesome.

It's not a tourist spot & the menu is Not translated to English but go anyways. The staff is incredibly friendly & accommodating.

We sampled wine, cheese, & Jamon/Ham. It was exactly the kind of experience I wanted coming overseas.

Would you like to bring all the Barcelona goodies home that you have devoured?! Surely you have stuffed yourself with the most brilliant cheeses, jámon, chorizo, wine, and what not. Otherwise you have done something wrong visiting Barcelona....

This shop is filled with delicacies! You can sit downstairs and literally eat / drink / devour the goods that they sell here. BUT you an buy the infamous cheeses, meats, herbs, seasoning, even full on pig's thighs if you want. And let me assure you... You want it. Pick out all the goodies that you like and ask for the vacuum package option. I'm not even sure of that's the correct translation in English but just to be sure: I don't mean 'vacuum' that they hoover the room as in 'vacuum cleaning' but I mean that they package your goodies & seal it airtight. So. You. Can. Go. Through. Customs. And keep it for a longer period of time and have tapas nights at home with your friends.

Do you live in Barcelona you lucky one?!! They also organize tastings, wine workshops and how-to-cut-your-jamon-off-the-leg and what not. They have their wine shop literally across the street and a tasting venue just 5 houses away. You read this right, they have a different venue for it! Definitely worth doing!!

Our visit to Vila Viniteca was complete happenstance. We were wandering around the Barri Gòtic in the rain when I spied the reddest and juiciest tomatoes I have ever seen through their storefront window. Like moths drawn to the light, we scurried inside to see if the tomatoes were real (they were) only to find a magical emporium selling the most wonderful things to eat.

Vila Viniteca is filled with cheeses, produce, cured meats, canned seafood, chocolates, spices, olive oils, wine, and everything else you can imagine. It's a sleek yet cozy little space where you can also get coffee. We stayed for almost an hour, browsing through the store and looking for gifts to take back home. Some of the stuff we ended up buying- Xavier Mor Chocolates, Noir De Rose Chocolat from Enric Rovira, a variety of tinned seafood, and a jar of Honey with Truffles. Everything was devoured and appreciated very soon after. We simply couldn't wait.

      Heavenly.

You can do wine, cheese, and jamon tasting here.
Tip: Ask for the cave. Yes...there's a cave in that store. Perfect place for wine tasting. In the cave!

Best cheese and wine experience of my life. And the charcuterie! Wow. Fresh, flavor explosions. I'll travel back to Spain for more here.

Be careful buying Jamon to bring back to the US. I believe it cannot pass US customs.
